Léo Grandbois et Darya Sepandj se sont qualifiés pour les Championnats du monde juniors et benjamins, samedi.
Ils ont chacun remporté leur sprint lors des sélections de Biathlon Canada qui se tiennent à Valcartier, en banlieue de Québec.

Léo Grandbois and Darya Sepandj qualified for the IBU World Youth And Junior Championships on Saturday.
They both won their respective Junior sprints at Biathlon Canada’s National Trials in Valcartier (QC).

Il y a déjà quelques mois, on nous avait transmis le nom d’un jeune biathlonien de l’Estrie à surveiller.
Les Championnats du monde juniors (catégorie benjamin pour lui) approchaient et Léo Grandbois, un costaud de 17 ans, 6 pieds et 180 livres pas mouillé, venait de gagner des courses à domicile. La confiance régnait dans le clan canadien.

Shooting Star would have been an obvious title. But Deep Purple’s classic hit is more appropriate for Léo Grandbois, one of Biathlon Canada’s most promising athletes, and his “race it to the ground” personality.
We were told about Léo a while back. The Youth Biathlon World Championships were approaching and Léo, a rugged 17 yo from Sherbrooke, QC (6′-180 lb), had just won some home races. Confidence reigned in the Canadian clan.
